The Ocean in Oregon

This past weekend we visited the little Oregon town of Neskowin. On the beach in Neskowin is a "ghost forest". A few years ago, a series of heavy storms moved enough sand off the beach to reveal the stumps of an old forest that is estimated to be around 2000 years old.

  1. I love the Oregon coast. That is an amazing story about the ghost forest. It reminds me of our lake where they logged the shoreline before the dam was installed in 1900. When the water level drops in the summer our ghost forests emerge as well. There are also some old cabin and camp areas exposed for beachcombing. - Margy
