A Still-Snowy Mt Hood

I mentioned last Friday that I would try to get a present photo of the snow levels on Mt Hood. Well, here it is. Its no surprise that Hood is still really snowy - it is the only mountain in the United States to boast year round natural snow for skiing and snowboarding. But the snowfall still has lasted well into May, and is just recently slowing down. Timberline Ski Area has a base of 155"! Great for the summer camps, such as Windells Camp!

  1. How gorgeous it is! I miss that view since I moved to Seattle, but at least I do have Mt. Rainier! But nothing tops Hood! And what a terrific shot! Breathtaking! Have a great weekend!

  2. That mountain peak is beautiful! Great shot.

Hope to see you on Norwich Daily Photo soon. Have a great weekend!

  3. What a gorgeously beautiful shot. I haven't had the opportunity to visit either OR or WA, hoping to someday! (The hubby has been to Renton, WA, many times for business. Lucky him!)

  4. Amazing sky and capture!
    Happy SWF.

  5. The shadow of the clouds cast on Mt Hood add more depth of the photo. Its so amazing to see how blue the sky is at this elevation!

  6. Oh, Great one.... i feel so close to it....!!!:)

  7. This certainly is a gorgeous picture! The blue sky sets off the clouds and the snow perfectly.

  8. I arrived here by way of Victoria Daily Photo! I live in Washington State. Love your photos!

  9. Will it still have snow in August? I'd love to see a snow covered mountain right about then. Not that this one isn't pretty now! :-)

I appreciate everyone that stops by to check out the Mt Hood to Portland, Oregon area through my photos ... Have a wonderful day!
