A Still-Snowy Mt Hood

I mentioned last Friday that I would try to get a present photo of the snow levels on Mt Hood. Well, here it is. Its no surprise that Hood is still really snowy - it is the only mountain in the United States to boast year round natural snow for skiing and snowboarding. But the snowfall still has lasted well into May, and is just recently slowing down. Timberline Ski Area has a base of 155"! Great for the summer camps, such as Windells Camp!

Love the Spring Trees!!!

This tree was just packed full of cherry blossoms. The petals were falling around the tree like snow. The picture was actually taken a few weeks ago, but I somehow forgot to post it. When I saw the theme of "trees" for Lens Day today, I remembered :) All those blossoms are long gone now, and the tree is busy growing its leaves.

I'm back!

As I mentioned last week, I did go on my Mt Hood hike on Sunday for Mothers Day and do have an assortment of photos to post. However, I was out sick for Monday and Tuesday, so this is my first opportunity to blog!
We adventured a few miles up the East Fork Trail off the Hood River. This first picture is a small waterfall that we heard out in the woods off the trail. We hiked back in a hundred feet or so and found this little, pretty waterfall. Someone had placed the red rock at the bottom of the falling water.
