Grove of White Birch

I came across this grove of trees on a recent walk and had to take a picture of the dark, shady patch, since it seems like white-trunked trees are pretty rare around here. More common are the cedars and evergreens. Even less common than these white birch are aspen trees. I read an article about a small grove nearby, but the road to get to it is closed until next year, so I will have to add it to my photography bucket list!

  1. Very pretty! I love white birch trees but I have to go up in the mountains to see them here.

  2. We don't have white birch around my home so I loved seeing them on your post. They are really pretty trees.

  3. One nice thing about under canopies in the temperate climate forest is the clear understories. It is impossible in the tropical climate, where every space is occupied by plants, vines, weeds, bushes. We can only get inside these understories by making clearings.

  4. We're surrounded by silver birches here.

    That is a lovely shot.

  5. Stunning photo of the trees. Mildred
