Wooly Bear Caterpiller

The wooly bear caterpillar has always been a fun winter weather predictor. The longer the middle orange section, the longer the winter. This fuzzy guy is definitely indicating a long winter for our area.

  2. I heard the more black = a longer winter recently. I guess it depends on where you live? ;-)

  6. Too cute ... and I am not a bit surprised that this will be a long winter this year. We have been in the 20's at night for several weeks already.

  11. Wonderful childhood memories of the Wooly Bear...I've never seen them on pretty flowers before. (I Googled them and found out fascinating information about them! They become the Isabella Tiger Moth, which I had forgotten.)
