Fading Sunflower

This sunflower only lasted a few days before its petals started to droop and dry. A sure sign of a change in the evening temperatures. It's ok though. On the same plant there are at least 5 other flowers getting ready to bloom!

Sun Going Down Over Flanks of Mt Hood

The sun was just getting ready to disappear over the northern flanks of Mt Hood in this photograph, taken from Cloud Cap.

Don't forget to come back tomorrow to participate in Orange You Glad It's Friday, and post your photo featuring a little or a lot of orange!

Grove of White Birch

I came across this grove of trees on a recent walk and had to take a picture of the dark, shady patch, since it seems like white-trunked trees are pretty rare around here. More common are the cedars and evergreens. Even less common than these white birch are aspen trees. I read an article about a small grove nearby, but the road to get to it is closed until next year, so I will have to add it to my photography bucket list!

A beautiful gazebo sits in the middle of a huge lavender field outside of Hood River, Oregon at the appropriately named Lavender Valley Farm.

On a side note: Today is my 700th blog post! I am so excited to have made it to another "anniversary" of blogging, and appreciate everyone that stops by to make this blog a success. A reminder also to come back any time after midnight PST Friday to post your photo featuring a little or a lot of orange for my new photo meme, "Orange You Glad It's Friday", which started last week!

Creeping Along

I have no clue what type of insect this is. I do not think I have ever seen one like it. It had little red eyes, and creeped along really slowly, which was good, because it allowed me enough time to go get my camera and capture it navigating its way down my chain link fence.

A quick thank you to everyone that participated in Fridays very first "Orange You Glad It's Friday"! I feel like it was a huge success and will continue to host it here every Friday. If you missed it last week, please stop by again any time after midnight PST this week to post your photo featuring a little or a lot of orange! And remember, starting this week I will feature a favorite photo of my choice from the previous week, so your shared  post could be picked to be next weeks featured photo!
