So .... Many .... Mushrooms!!!

Can anyone help me identify this cool mushroom? I think it is a chanterelle. But while I love hunting mushrooms to photograph, identifying them is not my strong suit.

We went walking around Trillium Lake two weekends ago, and I have honestly never seen so many mushrooms in my whole life. So many varieties! I LOVE photographing mushrooms, but wanted to keep under control, so I only photographed the most interesting varieties. I think I have a new favorite ... until I spot another, more unique variety ;)

  1. not sure but they are very interesting and beautiful! Thanks for sharing the love up-close with I Heart Macro Sarah:-)

  2. I only shoot them, so I'm afraid I can't help you out here. But they do say autumn to me.

  3. On thing I know chantarelles are edible. But so long ago I had them, can't remember what they looked like:)

  4. Interesting mushrooms.

  5. Here from MOM. I knew I had to visit-I'm fascinated by mushrooms-happen to LOVE the edible varieties too :) Don't know what these are but what a pretty shot.

  6. Not sure of the variety too, but it sure is unusual. Beautiful!

  7. I love the patterns on the underside. Not sure these are cantarelles though.

  8. I bought some in the store recently that look just like these, but I don't have knowledge or experience about eating them in the wild, but I did see this on google about look-a-likes-

  9. They look like chanterelles to me, very prolific this time of year and good eating!!! The gills go down the stem thats what you want. My Dad has been picking a lot of them right now. He dries them, we can them.

I appreciate everyone that stops by to check out the Mt Hood to Portland, Oregon area through my photos ... Have a wonderful day!
