Wall of Ice

The cold weather freezes everything in the Columbia River Gorge. One of the most dramatic scenes are the weeping walls. In summer, these walls drip and trickle water from underground springs constantly. In winter, however, the consistent flow of water freezes into dramatic icicle displays. This one could be spotted when driving along I-84, directly east of Yeon State Park trailhead.

  2. Beautiful to look at. I assume it might take awhile come spring for them to melt or break loose.

  8. Beautiful. If we go above the snow line around our cabin we can find frozen falls like this. I really love taking pictures of them. - Margy
