I have mentioned a few times this week my visit to the Crystal Springs Rhododendron Gardens in Portland. What visit to the garden would be complete without spending some time photographing the flowers that gave the gardens it's name?

I love geese, and always will. When I was growing up, we had them as pets, and despite their reputation, can be very sweet and docile. They are loyal and family oriented, and therefore just protective. In my opinion, there is nothing not to like. This fine fellow is a great example. He was patient as I pulled out my camera and took his portrait.

As I mentioned in yesterdays post, I visited the Crystal Springs Rhododendron Gardens in Portland over the weekend. I have been here many, many times in the past, for leisure and also to photograph weddings. I prefer the former. The gardens are one of my favorite in Portland. No matter what season, there is beauty to behold. This simple drop in the creek (which I have to assume is called Crystal Springs) that runs through the park is an example.

This past week was the first day of Spring. Hurray! While much of the country is still suffering from cold weather, snow, and the like, we are getting flowers, blooming trees and breaks of sunshine. I visited the Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden in SE Portland over the weekend to take in the foliage and fresh air. While there were some early bloomers, I will have return once the rhodys are in full swing ;)

Have you ever had the feeling you were being watched? I'm sure this guy did. Spotting this guy crossing the front porch at my moms house was another sure sign that spring is here.
For the most part, snails get a pretty bad rap. They are slimy, yucky creatures that terrorize gardens. But I find them to be much more tolerable than their no shelled counterpart, the nasty slug. **shudder**
Plus, they always remind me of the Racing Snail from The Neverending Story. ;)
