Happy first day of SUMMER!!! Now if only the weather would cooperate....
A bright pop of color for todays photo! These are the foxgloves that are just outside my Moms front door. It has been raining HARD the past few days, but I managed to sneak outside between rain showers and capture some flowers in her garden, all covered in raindrops!

Monday night, I was having one of those nights. You know the ones, where you just need to get out and get away from it all. I finally got the baby to bed and told the hubby, "I'll be back in a while", grabbed my camera bag and headed out. I knew where I was going and what I wished I could see happening in the sky, but as my car pulled out of the garage, raindrops hit the windshield. I continued on. As I crossed a bridge about halfway to my destination, I almost turned back. The raindrops had gotten worse. The clouds were grey and dark. No way I would see a sunset ... or so I thought. When I reached Crown Point, the sun was peaking out in a thin glowing golden space below the thick rainclouds, and about 2 minutes after my arrival, I captured this photo.

Another example of the perfect mirror that the waters of Trillium Lake becomes when the wind dies down. This is a broken branch that had fallen into the water. The reflection of the branch itself, along with the sky above was so abstract, and just screamed at me to create a photo!

Often in the early morning at Trillium Lake, the winds are non-existent and the water is like glass. The reflections are perfect. This was only minutes after the fog resting on the water had gone away and the last of the clouds were burning off. It left an amazing mirror behind.

This is one of many large birds of prey that live and hunt around Trillium Lake. I watched as he sat up on a side branch the prominent dead tree that towers over the north side of the lake. He soon left his perch and dove down, easily catching a fish. While he was away, another bird came and took a survey spot at the very tip of the tree. Later, when bird #1 came back, there were some words exchanged. I do not speak bird, but I do not think they were very nice words ;)
