The Simplicity of a Daisy Bud

With the very warm weather we have had over the past week, a lot of the daisies have come into full bloom. This was one of the last unopened buds I spotted on a plant at my moms house this past weekend.

Mt Hood from Sunrise Park

I had never visited Sunrise Park in Troutdale, OR before, but heard about it's pretty view of Mt Hood online, so I decided to head out that way with my son for our nightly walk at dusk. The pink hues of the sun going down behind us reflecting off the snow on the mountain did not disappoint!

Zig Zag Falls

Another shot I took from a recent walk to Zig Zag Falls in the Mt Hood National Forest. Despite the problem of midday sun, I still liked this photo I took from slightly down the Little Zig Zag River.

Wild Lupine

Lupine is a very common wildflower in the Mt Hood area. It varies from large, 2 foot tall plants boasting huge columns of bright purple, bluish or white flowers, to shorter, more bushy plants that only have small clumps of blooms. This was one of the latter, and I concentrated my lens on the tip of the flower, where the buds had not quite opened yet.
