Bridge of the Gods

Sunlight behind the Bridge of the Gods ©www.hoodphotography.com

I may have done a bit of speeding through the small town of Cascade Locks this past weekend. I was trying my best to make it in time to capture this beautiful light shining behind the Bridge of the Gods, which crosses the Columbia River Gorge. Being a photographer is all about taking risks, right? I say worth it!

Rowena Loops

Rowena Loops in Autumn ©www.hoodphotography.com

I have so much pretty autumn photography to share with you all! I have been busy, trying to get out and about as much as I can before all the leaves drop. The weather is supposed to finally take a turn for the chilly and windy this week, so I got out twice this past week and weekend to capture as much of the golds, oranges, and reds as I could.

This is the Rowena Loops, which is a series of tight horseshoe curves that twists below the Rowena Overlook at McCall Point. This road is photographed very often, but I was lucky enough to capture some of the pretty fall colors in my take.

Ruby Hooded Mushroom

red mushroom macro ©www.hoodphotography.com

I really need to get myself a pacific northwest mushroom identification guidebook. I do not even have a good source online for identifying the mushrooms photograph when I am out in the woods like I do for wildflowers, and both truly fascinate me. This colorful mushroom really stood out along the path I was walking on. A smaller friend hung out in the background. Does anyone know what type of 'shroom it is?
