Hideaway Lake

Hideaway Lake, Oregon

I discovered a new gem this weekend! I love finding places that not many people take the time to explore, and this was one.

We took a long day trip out to Hideaway and Shellrock Lakes on Sunday. We parked our car at the campground at Hideaway, then hiked the mile trail that connects the two lakes. Before setting out on our walk, we sat on the edge of Hideaway Lake, sipped an IPA, and took in this amazing peacefulness. There was only one small group camping on the other side of the primitive campground, so we had the place pretty much to ourselves. I will for sure be spending an overnight or two here in the future.

I will post about the destination of our hike, Shellrock Lake, sometime next week and let you know if it was worth the trip.
