Reaching Plum Blossom

I love the plum trees in my back yard when they are full of blossoms! The flowers are so delicate and pretty. Took the liberty of using a lot of negative space in this take to accentuate the simplicity of the flower itself.

Black Moon

A black moon occurs during certain astronomical events. In the case of this past weekend, it was because this was the third new moon in a season that has four of them. It is pretty amazing when just a sliver of the white crescent moon is visible against the black shadow that the Earth creates on the lunar surface.

Mt St Helens over Yale Lake

This weekend I traveled north and visited Yale Lake, a reservoir on the Lewis River in Washington. The views of Mt St Helens from the lake are amazing. There is a large park on the west side called Saddle Dam. The park is closed for the season, but we walked in and had the whole place to ourselves. My favorite!

Ladybug on a Daffodil Bud

Not only did my daffodils decide to make an early appearance this year, but so did the ladybugs! This little guy was my first sighting of the year, months earlier than usual.
