Rainbow over the Oregon Coast

I have to credit my Mom for this photo opp, as she pointed the rainbow that formed in the sky out over the coastline just north of where we were standing. I would have missed it completely! I am a sucker for a good rainbow, and the environment in which this pretty little splash of color decided to make its brief appearance could not be beat!

Yaquina Bay Bridge

The Yaquina Bay Bridge in Newport, Oregon is one of the most recognizable spans of Highway 101. I took this shot from the slightly less photographed southwestern angle, vs. from downtown Newport, which can be seen in the distance on the other side of the bay.

Sea Anemone

Isn't this such a pretty little example of sea life? These little anenomes were so small. They varied between the size of a dime to the size of a quarter. The range in colors in their tentacles was just so beautiful, I just could not resist kneeling down on to the damp rocks around the tidepools to get a macro photo of them.
